The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit their abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the programme.

Please note that only electronic submission via the conference website will be accepted. Mailed or faxed abstracts will not be reviewed. From January 2012 on you can submit your abstract online via this website.

Abstract submission deadline: May 4th , 2012

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Please follow these guidelines for the structure of your abstract using these subheadings: 

• Introduction
• Methods
• Results
• Conclusions

The size of the abstract is limited to 2,500 characters (this includes title, body of abstract, spaces, tables and graphics). The submission programme will automatically calculate the size of your abstract and will not allow submissions that do not fit in the size requirements. When inserting figures and tables the text should be reduced accordingly. 

Please indicate whether you prefer a poster or an oral presentation. The number of oral presentations is limited. Applicants will be notified by e-mail, whether the abstract has been accepted as a poster or oral presentation. 

There is no restriction how many authors may submit an abstract. Please note: The conflict of interest must be disclosed by the first and the senior author at the beginning of the lecture or on the poster.

Language

Abstracts must be submitted in English. Titles must be written also in German.

Publishment

The abstracts will be published on the official abstract CD ROM and as a supplement to the journal issue ONCOLOGY - Int. Journal for Cancer Research and Treatment, S. Karger Medical and Scientific Publishers. Abstracts will be published as submitted. Errors will not be amended by the organisers.

Copyright

After the submission the copyright of the abtract will be transfered to the DGHO, ÖGHO, SGH, SGMO.

Disclosure of Potential Conflicts of Interest

Please note that submitted abstracts will be reviewed only if the organiser has been informed about potential conflicts of interest. The conflict of interest must be disclosed by the first and the senior author at the beginning of the lecture or on the poster. 

You will be asked to provide information on following aspects: 

    * Employment or Leadership Position
    * Advisory Role or Expert Testimony
    * Stock Ownership
    * Patent, Copyright, Licensing
    * Honoraria
    * Financing of Scientific Research
    * Other Financial Relationships

Young Investitgator's Award

Physicians and scientists under the age of 35 years can apply for the Young Investitgator's Award. Interested authors are requested to mark the appropriate box on the online abstract submission.

Abstract modifications

Changes or corrections can be made before submission deadline and before submitting the abstracts. After the submission of abstracts no changes can be made! 

No Show Policy for posters and oral presentations

If a poster or oral presentation will not be presented at the annual meeting without excuse, the participation of the first author of this poster or oral presentation at the next year's congress may be denied.

Important notice

Submitting an abstract does not replace the congress registration. The congress registration must be done separately through the online-registration tool.
